Volunteering With Rescues

There are many ways for someone to volunteer and help rescue. Everything from helping with fosters, home visits, reference checks, transport, and countless other things in between.

Can you spare one hour a week, three hours a month or be on-call for transport? We would 100% appreciate any time you can give NEWFFLA

  • Home Visits – Go to an adopters or fosters applicants home to get to know them and see if their home is ready for a Newfie (Time required 1-2 hours)

• Reference Checks – Call references or veterinarians of applicants. You will be instructed what to ask and what to probe more. (Time required 1-2 hours a week, as needed)

• Transport Drivers - Transport drivers are needed to pick up dogs from surrendering families or our shelter partners and get them to their foster homes. On the flip side of that, once they're ready for adoption, transport drivers get the joy of handing off a dog to their new, loving family. We will call on you if you are in the area where the dog is currently located or going. (Time required 2-4 hours, as needed)

If you think you can help in any of these areas please submit a volunteer application today!

Loose Change Appeal

Ours is a small, all volunteer organization that relies on the generous donations of our members and supporters to be able to afford the expenses associated with our rescue efforts. Please consider making a donation and remember even small amounts really do add up.
